 SITUATION :

 The Fourtaunie is situated in the Dordogne, 8 km north of Bergerac, 40 km from Perigueux and 110 km from Bordeaux  The property is a pretty stone - built home   amid woodland and pasture of 25'000 m2 overlooking the valley  

THINGS TO DO

Within a few miles from here, one can choose to play tennis, do canoing on the Dordogne, go flying by microlight, play golf,( there are 3 public courses within 30 minutes from our gîte , at

Château des Vigiers, Castelnaud and at Château Merles )  or  go horse riding (at Manoir de Grand Vignoble) paragliding and biking  may also be arranged. Nearby, there is  a multitude of historical sites to be  visited -  " LES EYSIES,

ROCAMADOUR, DOMME, LAROQUE-CAJAC, BEYNAC,  SARLAT,  LES GROTTES  DE LASCAUX   (cave paintings )  are well worth the visite.  You may also  be tempted to visite the ATLANTIC- COAST,  ARCACHON and the

famous sand dune (Dune du Pyla)  in 2,5  hours away by car.

LOCAL - FACILITIES

Lembras, the nearest  local village, is 4 kilometres away, so a car is necessary . There, the local store supplies basic foods , (croissants, bread, milk, butter,  etc.).  The area is well served with excellent shops and super markets,  and the  gastronomic

delights of  local restaurants are famous. Every Saturday and Wednesday, Bergerac has a marvellouse market of fish, fruits, vegetables and all kind of other  local  produce.

Bergerac : only 20 minutes  away  -  there are direct flights to Bergerac by RYAN - AIR  from Stansted,  Luton,  Bristol,  Liverpool,  East Midlands, and  Brussels(B), ( by  FLYBE : from Gatwick, Southampton, Exeter, Birmingham, , and Edinburgh )

to Rotterdam by Transavia
